ZT Systems Launches 1219Ri Servers Powered by Intel® Xeon® 5500 Series Processors
New ZT Data Center Solution Optimizes Performance, Efficiency and Cost Effectiveness

Secaucus, NJ — March 30, 2009 — ZT Systems today launched the ZT Systems 1219Ri Series 1U server featuring the powerful new Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series (previously codenamed ‘Nehalem’) in a ‘Willowbrook’-based platform designed to enable new levels of performance, energy efficiency and cost effectiveness for infrastructure-scale data center operators. Smaller data centers and hosting providers will also benefit from customized ZT servers that provide unprecedented performance and thermal/energy efficiency with minimized cost of ownership.
“Cloud computing companies and other large data center operators are seeking ways to optimize performance and efficiency in an environment where controlling capital and energy costs is critical,” said Bob Anderson, ZT Systems Executive Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. “This new platform was designed specifically to meet the needs of these customers with a scalable, highly cost-effective solution that can be customized to their requirements. With the ZT Systems 1219Ri Series server, data centers get the performance of the latest Intel Xeon processors along with new levels of power efficiency utilizing the next generation of power management technology.”

“Taking advantage of the new Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series, ZT Systems server solutions provide an outstanding balance of performance and energy efficiency, which are crucial for today’s data-intensive computing applications,” said CJ Bruno, vice president of Intel Sales and Marketing Group and president, Intel Americas, Inc.

The ZT Systems 1219Ri series server incorporates advanced power management features including a simplified Data Center Management Interface (DCMI,) as well as IPMI 2.0 and power capping via Intel® Intelligent Power Node Manager. Improved power and cooling features include a voltage regulator that reduces heat created by low efficiency power conversion, a ‘spread core’ design for lower system-level fan speeds, and a 12V input power option. Cost effectiveness is optimized by omission of unneeded features often found in general purpose products, including extraneous I/O connectors and headroom for rare memory and processor configurations.

In addition to hardware featuring groundbreaking new technology, ZT Systems offers specialized programs designed exclusively for data center clients, with customized hardware engineering and integration, individualized service and support offerings, and custom, streamlined logistics solutions. Data center customers have access to experienced, highly knowledgeable engineering staff who can work with them to develop solutions to meet their technical priorities. ZT’s customized products and programs offer an array of advantages to make the jobs of data center managers easier.
